The 12 Ways of Christmas..Part 3 HUMILITY

On to the third chapter of "The 12 Ways of Christmas" by Dr. David Jeremiah - Humility.

He asks us if we ever celebrate Memas....I had to laugh. This sounded like a phrase my girlfriend and I say "It's all about us". Now we are joking...on the most part when we say this, but come December isn't it easy to think that the season or even just December 25th is all about us? My schedule, my diet, my gifts, my time off, my time in general, my wish list...and on so. We feel that we are entitled to have things focus on us.

Now when you think about it Jesus did make it all about us. Dr Jeremiah puts it like this "God loved us, became flesh for us, died to forgive us our sins, and rose to give us everlasting life." But he then reminds us " But in return, we should make it all about Him: loving Him, serving Him, praising Him and emulating His attitude of humility."

TO PONDER: He then give us three words to focus on to display humility: Peace, Sacrifice and Others. Keeping the peace, having patience with one another during the season. Sacrifice as we talked about yesterday - asking the question "How can I give something of myself for someone else this season?". And Others - build up and make someone else feel special - not just loved ones but the lady in the shopping mall parking lot, the family in the line behind at the grocery store. What ways will you show humility this season?
